Compact and Rugged

With the access door closed, the Telestar Point-of-Care System is less than four inches deep. Weight is approximately 21 pounds.

Mountable

The many mounting options for the Point-of-Care System make it quite a versatile workstation. It can be mounted flush to the wall, on a swing arm, on a desktop easel, on an adjustable height wall-mounted pole, or on a rolling stand.

Network Ready

Point-of-Care System units can be networked to a server via the on-board ethernet or via the PCMCIA slot.

Secure

Security features of the Telestar Point-of-Care System include a metal enclosure, a locking keyboard/tray access door and special wall-mount hardware that makes the unit nearly impossible to remove. As an added measure of security, Point-of-Care System can be equipped with a magnetic stripe card reader that can interface with user-provided software to prevent unauthorized access.

 Standard Configurations

Telestar® offers standard configurations of its Point-of-Care System with all three monitor sizes. These models are described in detail on the price list. For large quantities, Telestar will create a custom configured DVS.

Monitor

The bright LCD monitor is available in three different sizes and three different resolutions. All monitors are available with fully integrated resistive touchscreens.

Computer

The central component of the Point-of-Care System is the embedded Pentium® class PC comes standard with 10BT LAN and PCMCIA. CD-ROM and an external floppy drive are available as options.

Keyboard

The Space-saver keyboard is affixed on the locking, flip-down panel. It is available in a standard 101-key version or with a GlidePoint® Trackpad pointing device.

 

Standard Mount ­ L-shaped bracket slips into the top of the wall channel and allows System V to mount virtually flush to the wall.

 

 

 

 

 

Easel Mount ­ specifically for desktop use. Has soft rubber edge to prevent scratches. Mount folds out from hinged top.

Adjustable Height Arm ­ employs a pneumatic spring to accommodate users of different heights. Allows tilting and side-to-side movement.

Swing Arm ­ fits into wall mount channel. Allows varialbe horizontal and vertical positioning.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Rolling Stand ­ rolls to point of care, powered by the battery pack. Pneumatic assist height adjustment accommodates user in a sitting or standing position.

Battery Pack ­ designed for wireless computing; attaches to the rolling stand. Built-in charger can re-charge battery off-line or simultaneously charge and power the unit. Battery life is sufficient for approximately one shift of moderate use. Indicator lights show levels of battery charge.

Wireless LAN (not shown) ­ Point-of-Care System is available with wireless LAN from the leading suppliers of RF technology products.

Barcode Reader ­ sits in a holster attached to the side of System V. Allows hands-free or hand-held scanning. Perfect for inventory control or ID card security.

Magstripe Card Reader ­ reads track I and Track II encoded cards ­ just the thing for interfacing with an electronic medical records system.

Vanity Shield ­ hides wires and offers protection and security for the computer connections.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Keyboard Light ­ (Vanity Sheild with Lights) Illuminates the keyboard with a soft blue light ­ ideal for night time computing near the bedside. Light is attached to the vanity shield in the Point-of-Care System and incorporated into the housing in the other models.
