The Station Adapter Cardä 5 (SAC-5) delivers full-motion, uncompressed, and latency-free video within the building or campus environment at full 30 frames per second (fps) to individual VidPhone® Stations in a VidPhone® network. Each SAC-5 card supports up to five stations simultaneously using VidPhone® technology. Multiple cards can be added to support up to 64 VidPhone® Stations per Switch. The SAC-5 card enables fully interactive PC Stations to conduct point-to-point videoconferences, view video broadcasts, access stored video, and conduct collaborative data communications from a desktop or meeting room. All of these activities enabled by the VidPhone® System can be conducted while users continue to engage in telephone conversations and use PC applications. The SAC-5 card also supports output or display of video to an NTSC or PAL monitor equipped with a SAM-1. Input from observation video cameras can be added to the VidPhone® System through connection to the SAC-5 card via a SAM-1.

The Direct Access5 option card connects a wide variety of video, audio, or data systems to the VidPhone® Switch through its five audio/video/data ports. Each port is capable of interfacing to full-duplex composite NTSC or PAL video, full-duplex stereo audio, and data. The Direct Access5 card can be used to connect the VidPhone® Switch with external CODECs (coder/decoders for industry standard video communications across the WAN), video devices such as cable television tuners, VCRs, and DVD, as well as with other VidPhone® Switches. Imagine being able to have live broadcast news, weather, or financial information, stored video information, and worldwide videoconferencing capabilities available at any desktop or meeting room.
